Herbalist Arrested In His Shrine After ‘Defrauding’ Cab Driver Of N4million

A taxi driver looking for charms to boost patronage has allegedly lost N4million to a herbalist, David Abiodun. The victim, Adebayo Omoniyi, 38, lost the money to the herbalist, who promised to prepare a charm that would attract rich and famous clients.

Abiodun was arrested by agents of the Zonal Criminal Investigation and Intelligence Department (ZCIID), Onikan.


It was reported that officers arrested him at his sanctuary in Atan, Sango, Ogun state, last Thursday.

According to police, indigenous Omu-Aran, Kwara state allegedly collected N350,000 from the victim as the first delivery, but Abiodun denied the allegation.

Police said: "The herbalist said that after working for a Kazeem, he introduced his friend, the cabin operator to assist with the charm of Favor to boost his transport business and connect him with the rich people in society who Can make rich.

"After a month, he prepared soap and other mixes for him, but the driver came back and accused him of fraud.He said that the driver said that what he gave did not work as expected.He was not the first person who prepared the charms .

In her statement to the police, Abiodun admitted that she was an herbalist and learned the trade of her late grandmother.

He said, "I was a barber before I started herbalist work. Since I started herbalist work I have not prepared ritual money for people, what I do is help those who need favor and some other aspects.

"I was surprised when they told me that I collected four million naira from the taxi driver, the turtle that recovered from my sanctuary and the candle inside the bottled water was destined for somebody, I do not prepare the money ritual for the people.

Area spokesman Dolapo Badmos, a police superintendent (SP) said the suspect dressed as an old man and introduced himself as an herbalist.

The Deputy Inspector General of Police (AIG) Adamu Ibrahim has said that the suspect will be charged to the court. "The suspect is dressed in costumes to deceive people who were herbalists. At the conclusion of the investigation "
