Two Stolen Range Rovers SUV From Washington DC To Interpol Seized By The Nigerian Customs



The Nigeria Customs Service Tincan Island Port Command, on June 1, 2017, delivered 2 suspected SUVs stolen Range Rover SUV to Interpol.
In his narration, while delivering to the Range Rovers, the controller of Tincan Island Port, Comptroller Bashar Yusuf revealed that the interception was a consequence of Interpol's intelligence report.



He affirmed that the vehicles loaded in a container of 1x40 feet Nº UACN 5483681 were imported from Washington D.C in the United States of America and declared Toyota Tundra and Chevrolet Cruiz with some bicycles. It further stated that, on the basis of the information provided to Customs by Interpol, all shipments from the United States were subject to high surveillance to ensure that the suspect container was tracked

"The vessel was monitored from the port of loading to the port of Tincan Island and was intercepted upon arrival at the port of Tincan Island." The vehicles are gold-colored Range Rover Suv 2014 with Chassis No.SALGS2VFGEA126188 and a Black Color Range Rover Suv 2015 with Chassis No. SALGS37FOFA239330.

Comptroller Bashar expressed the deep commitment of the Nigerian Customs Service to partnering and sharing information with all agencies, both foreign and local, in a spirit of collaboration and inter-agency synergy.
Generally speaking, he emphasized that the interception will portray the country in good light, considering the concerted effort of the service to ensure that the exhibits were tracked. He reiterated the need for Nigerians to desist from acts capable of discrediting the country, particularly in this era of information technology, where interception of this nature will be based on the Internet.

He hoped that the Nigerian Customs Service will resist any attempt by any person or organization to use Nigeria as a conduit for illegal transactions and noted that Interpol Nigeria will submit the vehicles to the due diligence investigation through the courts and will eventually use its Internal mechanisms for Repatriation of vehicles to the United States
