Sir Victor Olaiya, one of Nigeria's high life legends, has been confirmed dead.
The veteran highlife singer, Victor Olaiya passed on at exactly 12pm at Lagos University Teaching Hospital, LUTH hospital in Lagos state, after a brief illness.
He was aged 89.
The late Olaiya was married and had many children including Nollywood actress, Moji Olaiya, who died in May 2017.
The news has thrown the Nigerian entertainment scene and music lovers into great mourning.

We pray that the Doyen of highlife music find repose with the creator while wishing the family and entire music community the fortitude to bear this irreplaceable loss.. And to my name sake Abimbola Olaiya I will miss your contribution to HIGHLIFE MUSIC . Dr Victor Abimbola Olaiya was 89 years of age on December 31st, 2019..
