Black Entertainment Television (BET) has on Monday announced nominations for the 2020 BET Awards, which will also mark its 20th anniversary. 
BET awards celebrate the brightest stars across music, television, film, sports, and philanthropy. The nominees announced in the Best International Act Award category are: Burna Boy, Innoss’B, Sho Madjozi, Dave, Stormzy, Ninho, and S.Pri Noir.
This is the second time Burna Boy has been nominated in Best International Act after winning the award in 2019. Young artiste, Divine Ikubor known as Rema, was nominated also for ‘Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act’.
With Drake leading with 6 nominations including ‘Best Male Hip-Hop Artist’ and ‘Video of the Year’. Meghan The Stallion and Roddy Rich followed closely with five nominations each
In the category for Viewer’s Choice: Best New International Act are : Rema, Sha Sha, Celeste, Young T & Bugsey, Hatik and Stacy. Wizkid made it under the “HER” category for his Brown skin girl song with Beyonce.
The 2020 BET Awards will mark the ceremony’s 20th anniversary and BET’s 40th anniversary, the Awards will air live on June 28 across ViacomCBS networks, including CBS for the first time. The show, which will be a virtual celebration due to the coronavirus pandemic, will also air on BET and BET HER.
