SAD: Veteran Nollywood Actor, Gbolagade Akinpelu "Ogun Majek" Is Dead

Veteran Yoruba actor, Gbolagade Akinpelu, popularly known as Ogun Majek, has died today,

Ogun Majek, who has been battling with an ailment for many months, died in the early hours of Thursday, June 25 in his residence at Imalefalafia, Oke-Ado in Ibadan, Oyo state.

The family of the deceased once asked for public assistance in April, for heart surgery as his health deteriorated before his death, the request was for financial help contained in a release issued by one of his sons, Akinpelu Akeem Abidemi.

 

The President of Theatre Arts and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria, Bolaji Amusan, better known as Mr Latin, confirmed his death, he said;

He died this morning and our colleagues in Oyo State are there to do all necessary things. Everybody knows he was a good man. He was a thorough professional. Our members, both in Nigeria and abroad, including other Nigerians, did all they could to save his life; but unfortunately, we lost him.

Nollywood actor and producer, Tunde Ola-Yusuf,  also confirmed his death in a post on his Facebook page. The post reads;

From him we come and onto him we shall return. Alhaji Gbolagade Akinpelu Ogunmajek has returned to his creator. May God almighty rest his soul among the righteous.
May his soul Rest In Peace.
