Nigeria Singer, Stanley Omah Didia popularly knownu as Omah Lay has reportedly been arrested by Katwe police in Uganda following his live performance in the country on Saturday, December 12.

Omah Lay performed last night at The Big Brunch, which held at Speke Resort, Wavamunno Rd in Kampala.

Though the reason for Omah Lay’s arrest was not stated, it may be connected to violation of COVID-19 social distancing protocol at the concert.

Uganda has recorded 27,532 confirmed coronavirus cases, 9,826 recoveries and 221 deaths.


Uganda’s Assistant Superintendent of Police and Deputy Police Spokesperson, Luk Owoyesigyire, made this known in a tweet today.

He also said the manager of the venue where Omah Lay performed, Dungu Ivan and the events manager, Prim Kasana were also in custody, as at press time.
