Nigerian comedian, Mr Macaroni has opened up on his arrest for joining the peaceful protest held on Saturday to show displeasure with the decision of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of Inquiry allowing the Lekki Concession Company to reopen the Lekki tollgate.

He was granted bail alongside several other arrested protesters on Saturday.

He has shared a message to his followers on his Instagram page, sayings he was warned by his father and siblings not to go out to protest. He said:

“It is not that i am brave, i didn’t even want to go out, i was very scared, my father, siblings, family, friends called me not to go but the reason i went is cos i knew people will be there…and i knew people will die again….the situation we are in this country is deepshit….we have a government that has zero value for human life….this is not the time to blame celebrities for not coming out….i was scared too…when we were picked up, we were taken to Adeniji and stripped naked. It was 39 of us that were arrested, The 39 people are the true heroes….”
